You can order by the side or by the foot. Please note that if you order by the side, we will calculate the footage and provide the total in invoice before payment. If you order by the foot, will calculate the footage as close as we can to the requested amount. Leather square footage will vary depending on the product. For more information on square footage and how many feet are in a side, refer to the additional information provided in the FAQ.

Leather is sold in a range of configurations. Most Law leathers are produced on sides. Sides are half hides and vary in square footage averaging from 16-22 square feet depending on the product. See product details for average square footage.

Due to the irregular shape of hides, you can expect a usable cutting area of 80% and a loss of up to 20%. This depends on the size of your cuts and can vary depending on the article you are considering. More natural leathers will show marks and you may gain or lose yield depending on your ability to cut these in.

Law leathers are priced and sold by the square foot. All sides average different square footages, so we will only know the actual square footage of you order when the sides have been pulled from stock.

We are happy to accept returns if leather is in its original condition. Leather cannot be marked or cut in order to return. Return leather in its original condition rolled, not folded. Credit will not be issued until evaluated upon return. Email returns@lawtanning.com for questions.
